LOCAL SEXUAL OFFENCE CONVICTIONS HIT 10 YEAR HIGH

Court convictions for sexual offences in Cumbria are at their highest level for ten years.
South Lakes MP Tim Farron asked the Secretary of State for Justice Crispin Blunt for the last decade’s figures, which show there were 61 convictions last year, compared to 2000′s low of 26.
The number of convictions for robbery is lower than ten years ago though, with 27 convictions last year, compared to 33 in 2000.
