MAN BANNED FROM DRIVING AFTER HORSE DEATHS

A man’s been banned from driving for two years after two horses were killed and their riders badly hurt just off the M6 near Shap.

70-year old Harold Birtwhistle – from Wigan – pleaded guilty to drink-driving and driving without due care and attention at Carlisle magistrates court.

He’s also been fined £900.
