CUMBRIA 999 CALLS COULD BE ANSWERED IN CHESHIRE

999 calls to the fire service in Cumbria could still end up being answered in Cheshire.
The government scrapped plans for a regional control centre in Warrington just before Christmas last year.
However, the five northwest fire services are looking into using it anyway.
The County Council’s cabinet meet next and are expected to back the move.
If agreed, the control would start work in 2014.
