PARKING
The clock’s ticking for local people to have a say on car parking in Kendal.
A twelve week public consultation by South Lakeland Council ends on Wednesday next week.
Questionnaires are available from the council, covering topics like how parking facilities could be improved, charges, and disabled spaces.
HELVELLYN
There’s less than a week left before scores of volunteers head up one of the Lake District’s highest mountains to help care for its environment.
The Friends of the Lake District are holding a “Fell Care Day” on Helvellyn and Ennerdale on Thursday next week.
If you’d like to help, get in touch with the FLD at Murley Moss in Kendal.
BID
A public meeting’s being held in Bowness in a few days, to launch a Business Improvement District project.
The scheme will run in the LA23 postcode area, and is being launched at the Burnside Hotel on Tuesday morning.
Local experts will be there to explain how it’s hoped the scheme will help to boost the local economy.
