BILL ODDIE SPEAKS OUT AGAINST GEESE CULL
Posted: February 22, 2012
A TV wildlife presenter has become the latest celebrity to back a campaign to stop 200 Canada Geese from being culled in the Lake District.
Just days before a 2,000 strong signature petition is to be handed in to the Lake District National Park Authority, the campaign to stop the planned cull on Windermere has received support from Bill Oddie.
He’s calling for the cull to be abandoned on his Twitter feed.
He wrote “Canada Geese on Windermere? Big damage? No. Public love em? Yes. Shoot ‘em? No!”.
Bill is the second celebrity to oppose the cull, joining Queen guitaristBrian May who last week said: ‘The order for this cull must be rescinded now, and some proper thought given to what action is needed, if any.’
