KENDAL MAN GIVES EVIDENCE AT HIS MURDER TRIAL

The man accused of murder after a Kendal woman died from severe burns has been giving evidence at his trial.
Terrence Michael Armer denied starting the blaze that killed Stacey Mackie at her flat on Crag View in January.
The 61-year old told the jury he was in the toilet when he came out to find smoke and flames coming from the living room.
Armer said he’d gone round to find out why the 35-year old had ended their friendship.
Carlisle Crown Court’s previously heard claims from the prosecution he doused her in white spirit and before she died in hospital she told police who her attacker was.
However, Armer said any traces of white spirit on him were because he’d been cleaning paint brushes earlier that day.
Armer – of Buttery Well Road – denies murder, the trial continues.
