CHANGES TO SOUTH LAKES BUS TIMETABLES

CHANGES TO SOUTH LAKES BUS TIMETABLES

Posted: August 26, 2012

Bus users around South Lakeland are being reminded to check timetables ahead of changes from next month.

After the routes were put out to retender, some routes have been altered.

Cumbria County Council say the new deals save the authority around £1.5 milion.

The new contracts will last for four years and were awarded after nearly 100 bus operators responded to the tenders.

In many cases small Cumbrian operators have won business from larger operators, which will be a significant boost to the local economy.
