Last week Giant Spiders, this week Giant Snails!
Officials in Florida are worried about public health following an outbreak of ‘Giant Snails’. It’s been reported that the snails which can grow to be the size of a rabbit are being caught at the rate of 1,000 per week! There is also concern that the supersized snails could cause building damage as they can eat their way through building plaster. It provides them with the calcium they need to grow shells.
Is this the scariest Spider you’ve ever seen – It’s the size of a face!
Scientists have found an enormous, previously unknown, species of venomous spider in a remote Sri Lankan village
The giant tarantula is as big as a human face. Its legs span a massive 20cm (8 inches)
If you have any scary pictures of spiders, either tweet them to me @danbeale or email dan.beale@lakelandradio.co.uk

Comet Panstarrs as seen in the pictures above is the ‘warm up act’ for what we’re hoping to be a bigger and brighter Comet called ISON which should be visible in the Cumbrian Skies towards the end of the year. You can find out more about Panstarrs and Ison by visiting Stuart Atkinson’s dedicated blog here
